Korean Diary Season 2026: What Launches When and How to Buy

Korea's diary season for 2027 planners is already underway in October 2026. Starbucks Korea's winter reward event, which gives a Moleskine-made 2027 planner for 17 drinks, runs from October 22 to December 31, 2026, and stationery stores such as Kyobo Hottracks, 10x10 and Ably opened 2027 diary promotions in September and October. Most of these stores sell only inside Korea.

This guide gives the confirmed dates for 2026, what the main sellers are offering, real won prices, and how someone outside Korea can get these diaries.

What is diary season in Korea?

Korean shoppers buy next year's planner early. Stores call it 다이어리 시즌 (daiari sijeun, diary season), and it starts well before the new year. Ably, a fashion and lifestyle app, reported in October 2026 that its diary sales since September were up 37% on the same period of 2025, and that diary and sticker sales had each risen 65% between September 15 and October 1.

The season has three parts:

• Stationery store launches. Korean brands such as Iconic, Indigo, Wannathis, Be on D (비온뒤) and Lucalab release dated 2027 diaries from late summer.
• The Starbucks planner. Every winter Starbucks Korea gives a planner as a reward for buying drinks. It has turned into a yearly event of its own.
• 다꾸 (dakku, diary decorating). Stickers, masking tape and memo pads sell alongside the diaries. Many stores bundle them.

Two Korean terms appear on almost every listing. 날짜형 (naljjahyeong, dated) means the dates are printed. 만년형 (mannyeonhyeong, undated, literally "ten-thousand-year type") means you write the dates in yourself, so the planner works any year.

When does the Starbucks Korea planner come out in 2026?

Starbucks Korea announced its 2026 winter e-Frequency (e-프리퀀시, e-peurikwensi) on October 15, 2026. It runs from October 22 to December 31, 2026.

How it works, according to the announcement:

1. Buy 17 handcrafted drinks, including 3 "mission" drinks. Each drink adds an e-sticker in the Starbucks Korea app.
2. With 17 e-stickers, reserve a reward by store and date. Stock is limited and first come, first served.
3. Pick it up at the store on the reserved day.

The 2026 rewards are a planner made with Moleskine, in a 2027 dated daily version and an undated version; a Lexon Mino T portable speaker in green or pink; and two bags, a corduroy backpack-tote and a canvas tote. A mini note keyring and a book cover can be reserved after extra drink purchases. People who collect a planner between October 22 and 25 can also get an extra undated planner or a mini note keyring while that stock lasts.

New this year: a waitlist for cancelled reservations and an in-app exchange request for defective rewards. Each account can reserve up to five items within seven days. If stock runs out, Starbucks gives three free tall drink coupons instead.

The pattern holds: announced in mid to late October, running to December 31, and always 17 drinks.

Can you buy the Starbucks planner from outside Korea?

Not from Starbucks. The planner is a reward, not a product. There is no product page and no price. It is earned with drinks bought in Korea and collected at a Korean store, and the app account behind it uses Korean identity verification. Our Starbucks Korea store guide covers that sign-up step.

Every year, collected planners appear on Korean resale apps. That is a private sale between individuals: the price is whatever the seller asks, there are no returns, and condition varies. If you want to try that route, read our Bunjang guide first, and ask us before you order.

Note on the speaker: the Lexon reward is battery powered. Lithium batteries have their own air shipping rules, and some routes refuse them. Ask us before you order anything with a battery.

What are Korean stationery stores selling for 2027?

The stationery side is where most of the actual buying happens. Here is what we confirmed in October 2026.

Kyobo Hottracks. Hottracks (핫트랙스) is the stationery and lifestyle arm of Kyobo Book Centre. Its 2027 diary section is split into dated and undated planners, calendars, study planners and stickers. On October 15, 2026, its promotion page listed these diary events:

Hottracks also ran a Leuchtturm1917 (로이텀) 2027 planner event from August 14 to September 30, 2026. The promotion pages did not show discount rates, so check the event page.

10x10. 10x10 (텐바이텐, tenbaiten) is a long-running design stationery store with many small Korean studios. Its best-seller list on October 15, 2026 was mostly diaries and stickers. Some examples, at the discounted price shown that day:

Two best-sellers, a Be on D undated "Layover" diary and its set, were marked to ship in sequence from November 9. Preorder-style ship dates like this are common in diary season.

Ably. Ably's "2027 Diary Early Bird" runs through October 18, 2026, with 45 brands, more than 400 diaries, 45 Ably-only bundle sets from eight brands, and a 15% coupon on all stationery. Iconic's Ably set adds a desk calendar and sticky notes plus a random lenticular card.

YES24. According to Segye Ilbo, YES24 sells Yangjisa's 50th-anniversary 2027 diary at ₩17,600, 20% off ₩22,000, with its Yangjisa event running from September 10 to the end of the year. Yangjisa (양지사) is one of Korea's oldest diary makers.

Which Korean diary brands should you know?

You will see these names on every list:

• Iconic (아이코닉). One of the biggest Korean stationery brands. Clean layouts, many sizes, a dated line every year.
• Be on D (비온뒤). Popular for Matte Book dailies and weekly diaries.
• Lucalab (루카랩). Compact "handy" planners, dated and undated.
• Indigo (인디고). Leather and pocket diaries; its A6 Prism Leather pocket diary is on sale in 2026.
• Wannathis (워너디스). Slim, design-led diaries.
• Yangjisa (양지사). Traditional business diaries; 50th anniversary edition for 2027.
• Imported brands. Hobonichi and Midori from Japan, Moleskine and Leuchtturm1917 from Europe. These are sold in Korea, but they are also sold in many other countries. Check your local stores first before importing them from Korea.

Kyobo raised its overseas shipping by ₩5,000 per book from October 1, 2026, according to SBS Biz, citing its overseas carrier's rate change. Because Kyobo charges per item rather than by weight, a box of light planners can cost more to ship that way than you might expect.

How to order Korean diaries through HaulKorea

2. Note the exact option. Write the year, dated or undated, size (A5, A6, B6, handy, slim) and cover color in words. Diary listings often hold several designs under one link.
3. Add the extras. Stickers, tape, refills and pens fit in the same box. You can add items from other stores.
4. Send us the links and your country.
5. Check the total. It includes international shipping. You pay once by PayPal, with no Korean card, phone number or account.

7. Look at the inspection photos. We send photos before shipping. Check the cover, the year and any gifts with purchase.

Duty and tax are not included in the total. In every country, including the US, the recipient pays local duty, tax and any carrier clearance fee on arrival.

When should you order a 2027 diary?

Earlier is better, for three reasons.

Best covers sell out. Popular colors and limited bundles go first, often before December. Have a second choice.

Gifts with purchase are timed. Ably's coupon ends October 18. The Hottracks events listed above mostly end November 30. Starbucks' extra undated planner was only for October 22 to 25 pickups.

Shipping slows in December. Korean domestic delivery and international carriers are busy at year end. A dated diary that arrives in late January has already lost a month of pages.

A simple plan:

• October: Buy dated 2027 diaries from Korean brands while bundles and coupons run.
• November: Add refills, stickers and calendars. Combine them into one box.
• December: Order undated planners if you missed the dated ones. They work whenever they arrive.

What can go wrong when buying a Korean diary from abroad?

Wrong year or type. A listing may hold 2026 leftovers, 2027 dated and undated versions under one link. State the year and type in words.

Size confusion. Korean "handy" and "slim" sizes are brand-specific. Check millimeters on the listing, especially if you are buying refills for a binder you already have.

Korean-only layouts. Many Korean diaries use English month and weekday labels, but Korean public holidays are marked, and some use Korean text. Look at the inside-page photos.

Preorder ship dates. "[11/9 순차출고]" means items ship in sequence from November 9. Everything in a combined box waits for the slowest item.

Gift items that never show up. Bundled gifts are often "while stock lasts." If the gift matters, ask before ordering and check our inspection photos.

Batteries and liquids. Most stationery travels easily. Speakers, lamps and other battery items, and some inks and correction fluids, have shipping restrictions. Read what you cannot ship from Korea and ask us before you order.

Does a diary from Korea cost more once shipping is added?

Usually, a single cheap diary is not worth shipping on its own. A ₩9,520 weekly scheduler weighs little, but the first part of any international shipment carries most of the cost. The math improves when you buy several things at once: a diary, refills, a sticker set, a calendar and maybe books or skincare in the same box.

Customs depends on your country. Paper diaries are ordinary goods, but most countries tax imports above a threshold, and the US no longer has a duty-free allowance for parcels.
