Korean manhwa and webtoons are published in Korea as printed books, often in two forms: a regular edition and a limited edition (한정판) packed with goods such as cards, postcards and acrylic stands. Koreans buy them from online bookstores like Aladin, YES24 and Kyobo. Some bookstores ship abroad directly, and popular series also have official English print editions. Check those first, then order the Korean edition when you want the original language or the limited goods.
This guide covers prices, how limited editions work and sell out, what Korean bookstores ship abroad, and how to order through an agent.

Is the manhwa you want already in English?
Start here, because it decides whether you need Korea at all.
Many hit webtoons have official English print editions. The comic of Solo Leveling, for example, was published in English by Yen Press, with later volumes under its Ize Press imprint, and Anitrendz reported in October 2025 that Ize Press would publish the sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, in English print in June 2026. These books sell through normal bookstores in English-speaking countries.
So the order of options is:
- Want to read it in English? Check for an official English edition in your country first.
- Want the original Korean book, the Korean cover, or the limited goods? Then you need a Korean bookstore.
- Want a series that has no English print edition? Korea may be the only place to get it in print.
The rest of this guide is about the Korean editions.
What do Korean manhwa print editions look like?
Korean webtoons are read online in a vertical scroll. Publishers reformat them into page-based print volumes. In bookstores you will see two kinds of listing for the same volume:
- Regular edition (일반판, ilbanpan). The book alone, sometimes with a small first-print extra.
- Limited edition (한정판, hanjeongpan). The book plus a box of goods. The goods are listed in the title, which is how you tell editions apart.
Solo Leveling as an example
The Korean comic of Solo Leveling (나 혼자만 레벨업, na honjaman rebeleop) shows both formats clearly. On Aladin, as of October 2026:
| Edition | List price | Aladin price | What's included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular, volumes 1 to 15 | ₩16,000 each | ₩14,400 each | Book only |
| Volume 15 limited | ₩57,000 | ₩51,300 | Book, 2 hologram bookmarks, 4 postcards, sports towel, passport case, pouch |
| Volumes 1–5 box set | ₩85,000 | ₩76,500 | 5 books, sleeve case, 3 postcards |
| Volumes 1–13 + OST album "ECHO" set | ₩213,000 | ₩191,700 | 13 books plus the OST album |
The volume 15 page lists 272 pages, a size of 150 × 210mm and a weight of 354g. The sequel, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, had volumes 1 to 3 out and volume 4 on pre-order for October 29 shipping when we checked, each at ₩14,400.
How much do Korean manhwa books cost?
Prices are set by the publisher and printed on the book as 정가 (jeongga, list price). Korean law limits how far stores can cut them.
Under Korea's book price system, a store can discount a new book by up to 10% of the list price, and the discount plus other benefits such as points cannot exceed 15%, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. That is why regular manhwa volumes cost almost the same at every big bookstore, and why the Aladin prices above are exactly 10% off.
Typical ranges from Aladin's limited-edition listings, as of October 2026:
| Type | List price range | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Regular single volume | About ₩15,000 to ₩16,000 | Solo Leveling vol. 1 to 15 |
| Limited single volume | ₩25,000 to ₩57,000 | Laws of Insso (인소의 법칙) vol. 9 limited ₩28,000; Solo Leveling vol. 15 limited ₩57,000 |
| Limited multi-volume set | ₩66,000 to ₩130,000 | Perfect Buddy (퍼펙트 버디) vols. 1–4 limited set ₩130,000 |
Limited editions vary widely in price because the goods vary. A volume with a bookmark and postcards costs far less than one with a towel, a pouch and an acrylic diorama.
What comes with a Korean manhwa limited edition?
The goods are the point of a limited edition, and Korean listings name every item. Some real examples from Aladin's limited-edition search:
- Solo Leveling vol. 10 limited: first-print character cards (4 kinds), acrylic stand, B6 clear file, 4 postcards, 2 posters, 2 luggage stickers.
- Solo Leveling vol. 12 limited: first-print character cards, acrylic stand, illustration board, 2 hologram bookmarks, 4 postcards and a game coupon.
- Laws of Insso vol. 9 limited: a PET stand, a character student ID card, 2 credit card stickers, 4 postcards and an acrylic keyring.
- Perfect Buddy vols. 1–4 limited set: clean-version dust jacket, photo frame calendar, 4 illustration postcards, memo pad, acrylic stand, 2 webtoon photo strips and a box.
- Boss Bitch Baby vols. 1–6 limited box set: PET bookmark, first-print acrylic stand, 12 scene photocards, quote stickers and a book case.
A few things to notice:
- "First print only" (초판한정, chopan hanjeong). Some goods come only with the first printing, even inside a limited edition.
- Expiring extras. The Solo Leveling vol. 11 limited edition included a game coupon with a stated expiry date of June 3, 2026. Digital extras can be worthless by the time you buy.
- Character-specific items. Keyrings and ID cards often feature one character per volume, so collectors buy the whole run.
For goods sold without a book, see our guide to webtoon merchandise.
Do Korean manhwa limited editions sell out?
Yes, often. Of the first 20 results in Aladin's "webtoon limited edition" search on October 15, 2026, most were marked 품절 (pumjeol, sold out) or "pre-order ended," including:
- Laws of Insso vol. 9 limited, published August 2026: sold out.
- Solo Leveling vol. 10 to 14 limited editions: sold out.
- Boss Bitch Baby limited box set: pre-order ended.
Solo Leveling vol. 15 limited, published October 2025, was still available to buy.
What this means for buyers:
- Order during the pre-order. Limited editions usually open as 예약판매 (yeyak panmae, pre-order) and close when stock runs out.
- The regular edition stays. Every regular Solo Leveling volume was still in stock when we checked. If you only want to read, the regular book is easy to get.
- Sold out means resale. After that, the only route is secondhand apps, often above list price.
Limited or regular edition?
Compare what you are paying for. Solo Leveling vol. 15 costs ₩14,400 as a regular book and ₩51,300 as a limited edition at Aladin, so the goods add ₩36,900 before shipping. They also add weight and bulk to the box, and some non-book goods may face shipping-method limits when a bookstore ships abroad.
Pick the limited edition when you collect the goods, display them, or want the first-print extras that will not come back. Pick the regular edition when you mainly want to read the Korean book or complete a shelf. For a long series, one approach is to mix both: regular volumes for most of the run and limited editions only for favorite volumes.
What Korean words help you search for manhwa?
Korean bookstore listings use a handful of words again and again. Knowing them saves time and avoids ordering the wrong edition.
| Korean | Romanization | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 만화 | manhwa | Comic (also the Korean word for comics in general) |
| 웹툰 | wepton | Webtoon |
| 단행본 | danhaengbon | Print volume |
| 일반판 | ilbanpan | Regular edition |
| 한정판 | hanjeongpan | Limited edition |
| 초판한정 | chopan hanjeong | First print only |
| 세트 / 박스 세트 | seteu / bakseu seteu | Set / box set |
| 완결 | wangyeol | Series completed |
| 개정판 | gaejeongpan | Revised edition |
| 구판절판 | gupan jeolpan | Old edition out of print |
| 예약판매 | yeyak panmae | Pre-order |
| 품절 | pumjeol | Sold out |
| 출고 예정 | chulgo yejeong | Expected ship date |
Two of these caught our eye on the Solo Leveling listings. Volume 8 appears twice: the old edition (구판) at ₩15,000 list, marked out of print and replaced by a revised edition (개정판) at ₩16,000. If you are completing a run, order the edition that matches the rest of your shelf.
Search with the Korean title for the best results. English titles often return nothing, and the same series can be listed under a webtoon title and a slightly different book title. Add 한정판 to the search to see only limited editions, or 세트 to find box sets.
Which Korean bookstores sell manhwa, and do they ship abroad?
The three big online bookstores all list manhwa with limited editions. Each handles overseas buyers differently.
Aladin
Aladin ships abroad itself. Its overseas shipping guide says:
- You can choose EMS, DHL or UPS, depending on what is available for your country.
- DHL is charged by item quantity; UPS and EMS are charged by total weight using an estimated rate table. For EMS, the estimate is prepaid and any difference is refunded the following month.
- UPS delivery to the Americas is temporarily suspended because of customs issues.
- Depending on the method, items other than books (CDs, DVDs, cassette tapes and magazine extras that are not printed matter) may not ship abroad.
- The address must be written in English.
That last restriction matters for limited editions. Goods such as acrylic stands and towels are not books. Check whether the edition you want can ship by the method offered to your country before you order. See our Aladin guide.
Kyobo
Kyobo is Korea's largest bookstore chain, according to SBS Biz, and it ships abroad. SBS Biz reported on September 22, 2026 that Kyobo would raise its overseas delivery fee for online orders by ₩5,000 per book from October 1, 2026, citing changes in its overseas logistics partners' rates. That adds ₩10,000 for 2 books and ₩50,000 for 10 books. For a long manhwa series, a per-book fee adds up quickly. See our Kyobo guide.
YES24
YES24 runs YES24 Global, an English store priced in US dollars, alongside its Korean site. The global store has a smaller catalog, so a limited edition on the Korean site may not appear there. See our YES24 guide.
Buy direct, forward, or use an agent?
| Buy direct | You buy, we ship (package forwarding) | We buy for you (HaulKorea) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where you order | Aladin overseas shipping, Kyobo, YES24 Global | Korean bookstore site, delivered to a forwarder | Any Korean bookstore link you send |
| Korean account and payment | Depends on the store | Usually needed | Not needed |
| Limited-edition goods | May be restricted by shipping method | Shipped as you choose | Shipped as you choose; ask us about specific items |
| Shipping fee basis | Store's own rules (Kyobo per book; Aladin per weight or quantity) | Forwarder's rates | One total shown before paying |
| Mix several bookstores and other shops | No | Often | Yes, in one box |
| Photos before shipping | No | Depends on the service | Yes, inspection photos |
If one bookstore ships to your country, the item is a plain book, and you are buying only a few volumes, ordering direct is simple. If you want limited goods, many volumes, or books from several stores in one box, an agent is usually the better fit.
How to order Korean manhwa through HaulKorea
- Check for an English edition. If you only want to read it in English and an official edition exists, buy that locally.
- Find the Korean listing. Search Aladin, YES24 or Kyobo with the Korean title. The title on the listing tells you whether it is the regular or limited edition.
- Confirm the edition and volume. Write down "한정판" or "일반판" and the volume number. Limited and regular editions are separate products.
- Send us the product links. For a series, send one link per volume or the set listing.
- Review one total before paying. You see the book prices, Korean delivery and international shipping in one figure, and pay once with PayPal. If the real weight is lower, we refund the difference, and there is no second charge.
- We order in Korea. For a limited-edition pre-order, the order waits for the release date.
- Check the inspection photos. We photograph the books and goods at our warehouse before shipping. Check the goods count against the listing.
- Add other items. Merch, stationery or K-pop items from other stores can share the box. See how combining orders works.
How heavy are manhwa books to ship?
Each volume is light on its own but series add up. Solo Leveling vol. 15 limited is listed at 354g. A run of 15 regular volumes is several kilograms before packing, and box sets add a slipcase.
Ways to keep the shipping reasonable:
- Buy box sets when available. One set listing packs better than loose volumes.
- Skip goods you do not want. A limited edition with a towel and pouch weighs and costs more than the regular book.
- Ship once. Waiting for the last pre-order and sending everything together beats several small parcels.
Do you pay import tax on books from Korea?
That depends on your country and order value.
United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection suspended duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value shipments from all countries on August 29, 2025. For US orders through HaulKorea, duty is not included in the total; the recipient pays it to the carrier or postal service on delivery. See our US import duty guide.
Other countries. The recipient pays any local VAT, GST or duty when the parcel arrives, and the carrier may add a handling fee. Some countries treat printed books differently from other goods, and a limited edition with goods may be assessed differently from a plain book. Check your customs authority's rules if you are ordering a large set.
FAQ
Where can I buy Korean manhwa in print?
Korean online bookstores such as Aladin, YES24 and Kyobo sell regular and limited editions. Aladin and Kyobo ship abroad, and YES24 runs an English global store. You can also order through a purchasing agent that buys from the Korean site.
What is a 한정판 manhwa?
한정판 (hanjeongpan) means limited edition. It is the book plus a set of goods, such as postcards, bookmarks, acrylic stands or keyrings, listed in the product title. Limited editions often sell out during the pre-order.
How much is a Korean manhwa volume?
A regular Solo Leveling volume lists at ₩16,000 and sold for ₩14,400 on Aladin as of October 2026. Limited editions we saw ranged from ₩25,000 to ₩57,000 list price for a single volume.
Why are Korean book prices the same everywhere?
Korea's book price system limits discounts on new books to 10% of the list price, and 15% including points and other benefits. So big bookstores price regular volumes almost identically.
Can limited-edition goods ship abroad from Aladin?
Not always. Aladin's overseas shipping guide says non-book items may be restricted depending on the shipping method. Check the method offered for your country before ordering a limited edition.
Did Kyobo raise its overseas shipping fee?
Yes. SBS Biz reported that Kyobo raised its overseas delivery fee by ₩5,000 per book from October 1, 2026. Ten books cost ₩50,000 more to ship than before.
Is Solo Leveling available in English print?
Yes. The comic was published in English by Yen Press, with later volumes under its Ize Press imprint, and Ize Press announced the sequel Ragnarok for English print in June 2026.
Can I get a sold-out limited edition?
Only on the resale market. Once a bookstore marks a limited edition 품절 (sold out), it may never be restocked. The regular edition of the same volume is usually still available.
