Korean shoe sizes are written in millimeters, in 5 mm steps, such as 240, 250 or 265. On Nike Korea's published chart, 250 mm is men's US 7 or women's US 8, and 270 mm is men's US 9. But brands do not agree: at women's US 9, Nike Korea says 260 mm while Mytheresa's Korean chart says 250 mm. Use the brand's own chart.
This guide gives men's, women's and kids' conversions from Nike Korea, a second chart from Mytheresa for comparison, how to measure your foot, and how to deal with width.
| Item | What we found (checked October 15, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Korean shoe unit | Millimeters, in 5 mm steps |
| Men's US 9 (Nike Korea) | 270 mm, UK 8, EU 42.5 |
| Women's US 7 (Nike Korea) | 240 mm, UK 4.5, EU 38 |
| Women's US 7 (Mytheresa) | 235 mm |
| Men's vs women's at Nike | Women's US size = men's US size + 1 at the same mm |
| Label mm vs foot length | Not the same; Nike's 270 mm fits a foot of about 26.2 cm |
| Wide fit at Nike | About 6.35 mm more toe-box girth than regular |
| Best way to choose | Use the brand's chart for the exact model |
How do Korean shoe sizes work?
Korean stores label shoes in millimeters. You will see a size picker with 230, 235, 240 and so on. Some listings write the same thing in centimeters, such as 24 or 24.5, and Japanese charts use centimeters too.
Three things to know:
- Steps are 5 mm. There is no 242. Between 240 and 245, you choose.
- The same scale for men and women. A 250 is a 250. Only the US labels differ.
- The number is a shoe size, not your foot. Nike says the cm size on boxes and labels is not the same as your foot length in cm.
That last point is the most common mistake. Nike's US men's chart lists US 9 as 27 cm (the Korean 270), but the foot length for US 9 is 10 5/16 inches, about 26.2 cm. If your foot measures 270 mm, a 270 shoe may be tight.
How much bigger is the label than your foot?
Nike's US charts list a foot length for each size. Converted from Nike's inches to centimeters, the label is about 1 mm to 11 mm longer than the foot at Nike, and the gap grows with size:
| Nike size | Label (mm) | Nike foot length | Foot length in mm (converted) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Women's US 6 | 230 | 9 in | about 229 |
| Women's US 7 | 240 | 9 5/16 in | about 237 |
| Women's US 8 | 250 | 9 11/16 in | about 246 |
| Women's US 9 | 260 | 10 in | about 254 |
| Men's US 7 | 250 | 9 11/16 in | about 246 |
| Men's US 8 | 260 | 10 in | about 254 |
| Men's US 9 | 270 | 10 5/16 in | about 262 |
| Men's US 10 | 280 | 10 11/16 in | about 272 |
| Men's US 11 | 290 | 11 in | about 279 |
So with a foot of 262 mm, Nike's chart points to a 270 label, not 260. Other brands build in a different allowance, which is one more reason to use the chart of the brand you are buying.
What is the men's Korean shoe size chart?
From Nike Korea's men's footwear chart, as published in October 2026:
| Korea (mm) | US men | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|
| 240 | 5.5 | 5 | 38 |
| 245 | 6.5 | 6 | 39 |
| 250 | 7 | 6 | 40 |
| 255 | 7.5 | 6.5 | 40.5 |
| 260 | 8 | 7 | 41 |
| 265 | 8.5 | 7.5 | 42 |
| 270 | 9 | 8 | 42.5 |
| 275 | 9.5 | 8.5 | 43 |
| 280 | 10 | 9 | 44 |
| 285 | 10.5 | 9.5 | 44.5 |
| 290 | 11 | 10 | 45 |
| 295 | 11.5 | 10.5 | 45.5 |
| 300 | 12 | 11 | 46 |
| 310 | 13 | 12 | 47.5 |
| 320 | 14 | 13 | 48.5 |
Nike's chart lists both US 5.5 and US 6 as 240 mm, and both US 4.5 and US 5 as 235 mm. In those small sizes, Korean steps do not match US half sizes exactly.
Mytheresa's chart for comparison. Mytheresa, a luxury retailer, publishes a men's chart on its Korean site. It matches Nike on the US-to-mm pairs from US 7 up (US 7 = 250, US 8 = 260, US 9 = 270, US 10 = 280), but its EU column runs a half size lower: US 9 is EU 42 there, against Nike's 42.5. That is normal. EU sizing differs between brands.
What is the women's Korean shoe size chart?
From Nike Korea's women's footwear chart:
| Korea (mm) | US women | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|
| 215 | 4.5 | 2 | 35 |
| 220 | 5 | 2.5 | 35.5 |
| 225 | 5.5 | 3 | 36 |
| 230 | 6 | 3.5 | 36.5 |
| 235 | 6.5 | 4 | 37.5 |
| 240 | 7 | 4.5 | 38 |
| 245 | 7.5 | 5 | 38.5 |
| 250 | 8 | 5.5 | 39 |
| 255 | 8.5 | 6 | 40 |
| 260 | 9 | 6.5 | 40.5 |
| 265 | 9.5 | 7 | 41 |
| 270 | 10 | 7.5 | 42 |
The same US size, a different mm. Mytheresa's Korean chart, made for designer shoes, pairs women's US sizes with smaller mm values:
| US women | Nike Korea (mm) | Mytheresa Korea (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 220 | 225 (listed as 225-) |
| 6 | 230 | 230 |
| 7 | 240 | 235 (listed as 235+) |
| 8 | 250 | 245 (listed as 245-) |
| 9 | 260 | 250 |
| 10 | 270 | 255 (listed as 255+) |
At US 9, the two charts are 10 mm apart. Mytheresa marks some Korean sizes with + or -, which suggests a fit between two steps, though the page does not define them. The lesson: a women's US 8 sneaker and a women's US 8 heel can mean different Korean sizes. Check the chart for the brand you are buying.
How do you convert between men's and women's sizes?
Many Korean sneakers are unisex and sold in mm only, so this matters.
On Nike Korea's charts, the same mm value is one US size apart:
| Korea (mm) | Nike US men | Nike US women |
|---|---|---|
| 230 | 4 | 6 |
| 240 | 5.5 to 6 | 7 |
| 250 | 7 | 8 |
| 260 | 8 | 9 |
| 270 | 9 | 10 |
At Nike, women's US = men's US + 1 for the same mm from 250 up, and up to 1.5 below that. If a Korean listing is "unisex 250," that is a men's 7 or women's 8 by Nike's chart.
What are the Korean kids' shoe sizes?
Kids' shoes use the same mm scale. From Nike Korea's kids' charts:
| Korea (mm) | US | UK | EU |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 4C | 3.5 | 19.5 |
| 120 | 6C | 5.5 | 22 |
| 140 | 8C | 7.5 | 25 |
| 160 | 10C | 9.5 | 27 |
| 180 | 12C | 11.5 | 29.5 |
| 200 | 1Y | 13.5 | 32 |
| 220 | 3Y | 2.5 | 35 |
| 240 | 5.5Y to 6Y | 5 to 5.5 | 38 to 38.5 |
Children grow fast and returns to Korea are slow, so measure the child's foot again before each order rather than relying on the last shoe size.
How do you measure your foot for Korean sizes?
Nike Korea's own method is a good one to follow:
- Tape a sheet of paper to a hard floor.
- Stand on it with your weight evenly spread, one foot at a time.
- Have someone hold a pen upright and mark the tip of your longest toe and the back of your heel.
- Measure between the marks in millimeters.
- Repeat for the other foot. Feet often differ, so use the longer one.
- Compare with the brand's chart. If you fall between sizes, Nike recommends the larger size.
Another way: use a shoe you own. If a Nike US men's 9 fits you well, look for 270 on Korean sites, then check that brand's chart. This is often more reliable than measuring.
What about shoe width in Korea?
Korean listings talk about width a lot. Useful terms:
| Korean | Romanized | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 발볼 | balbol | Width of the foot at the ball |
| 발볼 넓음 | balbol neolbeum | Wide feet |
| 칼발 | kalbal | Very narrow feet (literally "knife foot") |
| 발등 | baldeung | Instep height |
| 정사이즈 | jeong saijeu | True to size |
| 반업 / 반다운 | ban-eop / ban-daun | Half size (5 mm) up / down |
| 한 치수 크게 | han chisu keuge | One size larger |
Korean reviews often say things like "발볼 넓으면 반업" (if you have wide feet, go half a size up). That means 5 mm.
Wide models. Nike says its wide shoes have about 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) more girth in the toe box than regular, and extra wide about 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) more. Some other brands sell width letters, such as 2E or 4E. Check the product page; a Korean store may stock only the regular width.
Long vs wide. Going up in length to fix width leaves empty space at the toe. If a model comes in a wide version, that is usually a better fix than sizing up.
How do you read a Korean shoe listing?
Things to look for on the page:
- 사이즈 (saijeu, size): the mm options. Sold-out sizes are greyed out or marked 품절 (pumjeol, sold out).
- 굽 높이 (gup nopi, heel height): in cm, for heels and platform sneakers.
- 사이즈 팁 (saijeu tip, size tip): the store's advice, such as 정사이즈 or 반업 추천 (half size up recommended).
- 리뷰 (ribyu, reviews): Korean shoppers often post their usual size and how this one fit.
- 해외 사이즈 (haeoe saijeu, overseas size): some listings show the US or EU size the brand uses.
On resale apps such as KREAM, sneakers are listed by mm, and each size has its own price, so check the price for your exact size. See KREAM prices vs global prices.

Not every size is stocked for every model. Check the size picker before you plan around a shoe.
Can you return Korean shoes that don't fit?
Returning from abroad is possible but expensive, because the shoes go back to Korea. Each store sets its own rules, and worn shoes are rarely accepted. See returns from Korean stores before you order.
For that reason, it is worth checking three things first: the brand chart, the store's size tip, and two or three Korean reviews.
