Korea Exclusive Collaborations 2026: Where They Drop and How to Buy
Most Korea-only collaborations launch on a few channels: Musinsa (often through its Musinsa Drop release service), a brand's own Korean online mall, Olive Young, and short-run pop-up stores in Seoul neighborhoods like Seongsu. Many sell out in minutes and never reach a global website, so buyers abroad usually need someone in Korea to check out for them. A few, like Olive Young's 2026 Mangu bear collaboration, do reach global sites, so check those first.
This guide explains where these drops happen, how first-come and raffle releases work, which collabs did reach global sites, and how to plan an order from outside Korea.

What counts as a "Korea-only" collaboration?
The phrase covers three different things, and it helps to know which one you are looking at.
- Channel exclusives. The product is sold only through one or two Korean channels. The Korean press labels these 단독 발매 (dandok balmae, "exclusive release"). Example: FILA's Han So-hee Collaboration Edition sneakers in December 2025 were sold only on FILA Korea's official online store and on Musinsa, according to Sports Kyunghyang.
- Korea-market editions. A global brand or character makes a version for the Korean market, often through its Korean licensee. These can show up abroad later, or never.
- Event-only merch. Goods made for a pop-up, a sports event or a K-pop release window. They are sold for a few days or weeks, sometimes only in person.
The label is not always permanent. Some Korean exclusives later appear on a global store, and some "global" collabs have extra Korea-only items. Treat any "only in Korea" claim as true until the brand says otherwise, then check again before you pay a premium.
Where do Korea-only collaborations drop?
Musinsa and Musinsa Drop
Musinsa is Korea's biggest fashion platform and the most common home for exclusive fashion collabs. In September 2023 it launched Musinsa Drop (무신사 드롭), a release service for limited editions and collaborations, according to Financial News. The first drop, a PROJECT G/R x Reebok collaboration, sold out in under a minute.
Recent Musinsa exclusives show the range:
- Hearts2Hearts x Musinsa Standard (July 2026): Eight short-sleeve T-shirts based on the K-pop group's character artwork, released exclusively on Musinsa. Official goods such as photocards and keyrings went on pre-order on Musinsa's online store from July 2 to July 12, with a pop-up at Musinsa Megastore Seongsu running until August 7, according to CEO Score Daily.
- Gen.G 2026 Official Second Uniform Collection (June 2026): An esports jersey and jacket collection made with Musinsa as Gen.G's apparel sponsor. The Korea Times described it as part of a wider trend of limited "special edition" sportswear.
- FILA x Han So-hee (December 2025): 300 pairs with individual serial numbers, sold only through FILA Korea's online store and Musinsa.
Musinsa also launched K-Connect, a platform for K-pop fan goods, in November 2025. Fan merch tied to album releases is now a regular part of its exclusive lineup.
Brand-owned Korean malls
Many Korean brands keep their best collabs for their own websites. A brand mall usually needs a Korean account to check out, and some sell only to Korean addresses. Lines made only for the Korean market, such as The North Face White Label, are another source of items that never appear on a brand's global site.
Olive Young
Olive Young runs large character collaborations across hundreds of beauty products. Two from 2026:
- Olive Young x Mangu bear (February 2026): 119 products with 21 brands, featuring the Korean webtoon character 망그러진 곰 (Mangeureojin Gom, "Mangu bear") by creator Yurang. CJ's newsroom said the products were sold in stores nationwide and on Olive Young's domestic and global online malls. Purchase-with-gift items, such as a blanket set and a pouch, went first come, first served.
- Olive Young x Pokémon (May 1-30, 2026): About 230 products from 61 brands, the most brands Olive Young had ever brought into one collaboration, according to CJ's newsroom. The flagship event at Olive Young N Seongsu included a capsule-toy area and stamp rally. CJ did not say whether these items were sold on the global mall.
The Mangu bear case is a good reminder to check the global site first. If Olive Young Global lists the item and ships to your country, buy it there.
Pop-up stores in Seoul
Seongsu-dong and Hongdae are the main pop-up districts. Brands use pop-ups for launch-week merch that is often sold only on site. For the summer 2026 Musinsa Black Friday, Musinsa set up event zones at its Yongsan megastore and its Kicks stores in Hongdae and Seongsu, according to the Korea Economic Daily.
Pop-up-only items are the hardest category to buy from abroad. If nothing is listed online, there is no product link for anyone to order from.
KREAM and resale apps
When a drop sells out, it usually reappears on resale platforms. KREAM is the main Korean resale marketplace for sneakers and limited fashion. Prices there follow demand and can sit well above the release price.
Which channel carries which kind of collab?
| Channel | Typical collabs | How they sell | Global option? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Musinsa / Musinsa Drop | Fashion brands, K-pop merch, esports, artists | Timed first-come or raffle | Some items on Musinsa Global |
| Brand-owned Korean malls | A brand's own collabs and numbered runs | Timed release, sometimes members only | Rarely |
| Olive Young | Character packaging on beauty and lifestyle items | Regular stock plus first-come gifts | Some items on Olive Young Global |
| Seoul pop-ups | Launch-week and event-only merch | In person, often by reservation | No |
| KREAM | Sold-out items from all of the above | Resale at market price | No |
How do you search Korean sites for collabs?
Korean product pages use a handful of words over and over. Searching with them finds more than an English search will:
- 콜라보 (kollabo) or 협업 (hyeobeop): "collaboration."
- 한정판 (hanjeongpan): "limited edition."
- 단독 (dandok): "exclusive," as in a channel exclusive.
- 발매 (balmae): "release," often next to a date and time.
- 응모 (eungmo): "entry," used for raffles.
- 품절 (pumjeol): "sold out."
Type the brand or character name in Korean plus one of these words into the store's search bar. For more terms, see our Korean online shopping glossary.
How do Korean drops sell: first-come or raffle?
Korean limited releases use two main formats.
| Format | How it works | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| First-come, first-served (선착순, seonchaksun) | The release time is announced in advance. Stock sells to whoever checks out first. | Speed matters. Popular items can go in seconds. |
| Raffle or draw (래플, raepeul) | You enter during an entry window. Winners are picked at random and get a short buying period. | Winning is luck. Entries are tied to the account holder. |
Musinsa Drop uses both formats, depending on the product. Financial News described the process as announcing the release time in advance, then selling for a limited window by first-come or raffle.
Pop-ups often add a third layer: timed reservations and per-person purchase limits. Rules change by event, so read the notice for the specific drop.
Can you buy Korea-only collaborations from outside Korea?
Sometimes directly, often not. Here is how the three routes compare.
| Buy direct | You buy, we ship (package forwarding) | We buy for you (HaulKorea) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Korean account and 본인인증 (bon-in injeung, identity verification) | Needed on most Korean sites | Needed | Not needed |
| Korean payment | Usually needed | Usually needed | PayPal, once |
| First-come drops | You check out yourself | You check out yourself | We try to buy once you send the link; sell-outs happen |
| Raffles and draws | You enter yourself | You enter yourself | We do not enter draws |
| Pop-up-only items | Not possible from abroad | Not possible | Only if the item is also listed online |
| Several stores in one box | No | Usually | Yes |
Check the global site first. Musinsa Global, Olive Young Global and some brand sites ship abroad. If the collab is listed there and your country is served, that is the simplest route. Check the global site's own duty terms at checkout.
When you need a Korean buyer. Use a forwarder or a purchasing agent when the item is only on a Korean site, the Korean site needs verification you cannot pass, or the item sells only to Korean addresses. For a full comparison, see our guide to purchasing agents vs package forwarding.
How do you order a Korea-only collab with HaulKorea?
- Find the product page. Copy the Korean listing link from Musinsa, Olive Young, the brand's mall or another Korean store. A release notice page is useful too.
- Write the exact option. Size, color, version and quantity. Korean sizes use millimeters for shoes and 90/95/100 or S/M/L for tops.
- Send us the link early. For a first-come drop, send it before the release and include the release time.
- Check the total. We show one total that includes international shipping, and you pay once by PayPal.
- We try to buy at release. If the item sells out before we check out, we tell you right away.
- We receive and photograph it at our warehouse in Korea, so you can see the tags, serial labels and box before shipping.
- We ship. If the final weight costs less to ship than estimated, we refund the difference. There is no second charge.
Duties and taxes are not part of the HaulKorea total. The recipient pays any duty, tax and carrier clearance fee in their own country. In the US, CBP ended duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value shipments from all countries on August 29, 2025, so even small orders can be charged. See our US import duty guide for how that works.
What sells out fastest?
Based on recent Korean reporting, four types of collab tend to go first:
- Numbered or very small runs. The FILA x Han So-hee sneakers were limited to 300 pairs.
- Celebrity and K-pop tie-ins. Album-linked merch with photocards, like the Hearts2Hearts collection, draws fans from abroad too.
- Purchase-with-gift items. At Olive Young, the gift is often the real target. Gift items for the Mangu bear and Pokémon collaborations were first come, first served, so the gift can run out while the product stays in stock.
- Pop-up exclusives. Capsule toys and on-site gifts, like those at the Pokémon event at Olive Young N Seongsu, are sold in person and in small batches.
Less obvious collabs, such as beauty sets in character packaging, often stay in stock for weeks. They are a good place to start if you want something Korea-specific without racing a release clock.
How do you spot a real Korea-only collaboration?
Fake or misleading "Korea exclusive" listings are common on resale sites and overseas marketplaces. Check these points:
- Official announcement. Look for a press release, a brand Instagram post or a Musinsa or Olive Young event page that names the collab and channel.
- Channel match. If the brand says "FILA Korea and Musinsa only," a listing elsewhere is a resale, not a new release.
- Serial labels and tags. Numbered editions should have the label described in the announcement.
- Price logic. A sold-out collab at retail price on an unfamiliar site is a warning sign.
Our guide to avoiding fake Korean products covers more checks.
When are Korea-only collabs announced?
There is no single calendar, but patterns repeat:
- Big sale events. Musinsa runs its 무진장 (Mujinjang) Black Friday twice a year, in early summer and in November. Brands often time exclusives to these events.
- K-pop comebacks. Album-linked merch appears around the release. The Hearts2Hearts goods, for example, had a pre-order window from July 2 to July 12, 2026.
- Character anniversaries and holidays. Olive Young's Pokémon collaboration was tied to the 30th anniversary and Korea's Family Month in May.
- Pop-up seasons. Seongsu hosts new pop-ups almost every week.
The most reliable approach is to follow the brand and the platform on Instagram and check the "drop" or "event" page of the store a week ahead.
What can go wrong with a Korea-only order?
Sell-outs before purchase. A buying agent adds a step between your request and the checkout. For a first-come drop that sells out in seconds, no one can promise a purchase.
Raffle-only releases. Draw entries are tied to the account holder, and winning is random. We do not enter draws.
Per-person limits. Many drops allow one or two per account. Ask for one item per release.
Korean-only sizing. Check the size chart in centimeters or millimeters. Our Korean clothing size chart helps.
No returns from abroad. Limited items are often final sale, and returning anything from overseas is slow. Be sure about size and color before you order.
Restricted contents. Some collab sets include perfume, aerosol sprays or items with batteries. Air shipping rules limit these. Ask us before you order.
FAQ
What does 단독 발매 mean on a Korean product page?
It means "exclusive release." The product is sold only on that channel, such as Musinsa or a brand's own mall. It does not always mean the product will never be sold anywhere else later.
Does Musinsa Drop ship abroad?
Musinsa Drop runs on Musinsa's Korean platform, which is built for Korean accounts and addresses. Some products also appear on Musinsa Global, which ships to a list of countries. Check Musinsa Global first, and use a forwarder or purchasing agent if the item is only on the Korean site.
Can HaulKorea enter a raffle for me?
No. Draw entries are tied to the account holder, and we do not enter draws. If a raffle item later shows up in regular stock or on a resale platform, send us that link.
Are Olive Young character collaborations sold on Olive Young Global?
Sometimes. CJ said the February 2026 Mangu bear collaboration was sold on Olive Young's domestic and global online malls. For the May 2026 Pokémon collaboration, CJ did not say. Search the global site before ordering from Korea.
Can I buy pop-up store exclusives from abroad?
Only if the item is also listed online. Pop-up-only goods are sold in person, so there is no link to order from. Watch for an online release after the pop-up ends.
What is Musinsa K-Connect?
K-Connect is Musinsa's platform for K-pop fan goods, launched in November 2025. Musinsa also sells album-linked goods such as photocards, brooches and keyrings on its online store, often as pre-orders for a set window, as with Hearts2Hearts in July 2026. Pre-order items ship after the window closes, so expect a wait before they reach our warehouse.
Who pays customs duty on a Korea-only collab?
The recipient pays duty, tax and any carrier clearance fee in their own country. HaulKorea's total covers the item, Korean delivery and international shipping only.
Why is the KREAM price higher than the release price?
KREAM is a resale marketplace, so prices follow demand after a sell-out. If the retail drop is still in stock on the original channel, buying there is usually cheaper.
Planning your next Korea-only order
Follow the brands you like, check whether the global site carries the collab, and send us the Korean link before the release if it does not. Include the exact option and release time, and we will show you one total before you pay.
