What is EMIS?

EMIS is a Korean brand that started with accessories and grew into a small apparel line. A Taiwanese fashion magazine, Bella, describes it as founded in 2017, with a name that stands for "Every Moment Is Special" and a retro, Y2K-inspired approach to caps and bags.

The same Bella article named BLACKPINK's Jisoo and Lisa, actress Han So-hee and actor Kim Min-kyu among the people seen wearing it. Those photos are a big reason fans abroad search for "EMIS cap."

Where are EMIS stores?

EMIS opened a flagship store in Hongdae, Seoul, on July 3, 2026, on the first floor of Wise Park at 176 Yanghwa-ro, Mapo-gu, according to PAP Magazine. The store carries the full range of caps, bags and apparel. At the opening, it launched five store-exclusive cap designs.

Outside Korea, Bella reported in 2025 that EMIS opened its first permanent counter in Taiwan at Eslite Greenery in Taichung. If you live in Taiwan, you can try caps on there first.

Why do people outside Korea want EMIS?

Three reasons come up again and again:

• Price. Most EMIS caps cost ₩49,000 on the Korean store.
• Small, light items. Caps and canvas bags weigh little, so they are cheap to ship compared with clothing.
• Colors and drops. EMIS releases new colors and collaborations often, and some designs are store-exclusive or online-exclusive in Korea.

What does EMIS sell, and how much does it cost?

The Korean official store groups products under New, Best, Exclusive, Collections and All Items. Caps and bags dominate the best-seller list.

EMIS ball caps

Every ball cap on the Best list was priced at ₩49,000 when we checked in October 2026. Examples include:

The Mini Rubber Patch Pigment Ball Cap lists a 100% cotton outer. "Pigment" or "pigment dyeing" in a product name means a washed, faded color, which is the look EMIS is known for.

Winter versions also appear, such as the Mini Rubber Patch Brushed Ball Cap. "Brushed" means a soft, napped fabric for colder months.

Eco bags are the other signature item. These are canvas or fabric shopper bags printed or patched with the logo.

Stock changes quickly. Several items on the Best list were marked sold out, so check the product page before you order.

How do EMIS caps and bags fit?

Cap sizing

EMIS caps are sold in one size. The product page for the Mini Rubber Patch Pigment Ball Cap lists its measurements as "see image" (이미지참조, imiji chamjo), meaning the size chart is printed in the product photos rather than in the text.

Before ordering:

1. Measure your head. Wrap a tape measure around your forehead, just above the ears. Write down the number in centimeters.
2. Find the size image on the product page. Look for head circumference, crown depth and brim length.
3. Compare with a cap you own. Crown depth matters as much as circumference.
4. Check the back closure in the photos. Some styles use a strap or buckle, others do not, so look at the back view.

Bag dimensions

Bag pages list measurements in centimeters. The Tonal Hobo Bag, for example, is 24 cm wide at the opening, 28.5 cm wide at the base, 18.5 cm tall and 9 cm deep at the bottom, with a 72 cm handle. Its outer and lining are 100% polyester with synthetic leather trim.

EMIS notes that measurements can vary by 1 to 3 cm depending on how they are taken.

Can you buy EMIS from outside Korea?

Yes. Check the official routes first.

Option 1: the EMIS English store

EMIS runs an English version of its store at en.emis.kr, priced in US dollars. Its shopping guide says:

• Carrier: orders ship internationally and can be tracked with a DHL tracking number.
• Shipping fee: charged by the weight of the items you order.
• Delivery time: the guide says international shipping typically takes 5 to 7 business days.
• Free shipping: Global Membership members get free international shipping on orders over USD 200.
• Payment: credit card.
• Duties: customs duties and import taxes are not included and may apply in your country.
• Returns: for a change of mind, the customer pays all costs; for defective or wrong items, the seller pays. The return address is in Korea.

For a cap or two, this is the most direct way to buy.

Option 2: Musinsa Global

How can you keep shipping costs down on an EMIS order?

International carriers charge by actual weight or by box size, whichever is greater. A cap weighs very little, but a structured crown takes up space, so the box size usually decides the price.

A few practical ways to keep the cost reasonable:

• Bundle several items. Two or three caps can nest inside each other, and a fabric eco bag folds flat around them. One box for several items costs less than several small parcels.
• Pair caps with flat items. Eco bags, T-shirts and stationery fill the gaps in a box without adding much size.
• Compare the USD and KRW prices. The English store prices in dollars, while the Korean store prices in won. Check both on the same day, with your card or PayPal conversion rate in mind.
• Watch the USD 200 line on the English store. If you are a Global Membership member and your order is close to USD 200, adding one more item may switch shipping to free.
• Skip structured bags if size matters. A hobo or shoulder bag with a stiff shape takes more room than a soft eco bag.

Returns and exchanges

The Korean EMIS store's rules:

• Window: exchanges and returns must be requested within 7 days of receiving the item, through the website or the Naver Pay channel used for the order.
• Fees for customer reasons: ₩6,000 for a full return, ₩3,000 for a partial return, and ₩6,000 for an exchange. Change of mind and wrong size count as customer reasons.
• Wrong item or defect: handled as a free exchange for the same product first, or a refund if it is sold out.
• Not accepted: used or washed items, or items without tags.
• Deadline for the parcel: if a returned item does not reach EMIS's warehouse within 5 days of the request, the return is withdrawn.

Customs and import tax on caps and bags

United States. Duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value parcels has been suspended since August 29, 2025, so even a single cap can be charged duty. HaulKorea quotes for the US do not include duty, so the recipient pays it to the carrier or postal service on delivery. The EMIS English store says duties are not included either. How to spot a fake EMIS cap

EMIS caps are easy to copy, and look-alikes appear on open marketplaces and secondhand apps.

• Buy from the official store, Musinsa or official stores. These are the safest sources.
• Check the price. A "new" EMIS cap far below ₩49,000 from an unknown seller is a warning sign, though official sales do happen.
• Compare the logo and patch. Look at the product photos on emis.kr and compare stitching, patch shape and the inside label.
• Be careful with secondhand listings. Resale apps can be fine for used items, but authenticity is the seller's claim, not a guarantee.
