Korean winter fashion in 2026 is built around the light down jacket. Musinsa, the Korean fashion platform, said its light padding sales in August 2026 were 718% higher than a year earlier, and on October 15 its outerwear ranking was led by light hooded jackets, sheer light down and fleece. Several of the bestsellers come from brands sold only or mainly in Korea, such as SPAO, Musinsa Standard and The North Face White Label.

What is trending in Korean winter fashion in 2026?
Light down, everywhere. The light down jacket has moved from hiking gear to everyday commuting wear, according to Samsung Fashion Research Institute, as quoted by Segye Ilbo. It works alone in fall and as a layer in deep winter, and the institute said layering is pulling purchases earlier in the season. Demand rose from August, after a late heat wave. Musinsa then ran a dedicated "'26 FW light padding festival" from September 9 to 19 with The North Face, National Geographic, Nautica and Musinsa Standard.
Fleece and half-zips. Between September 1 and 10, Musinsa reported fleece sales up 218% and spring/fall coats up 247%. Searches for "autumn clothes" were about 53 times higher than the same period a year before, and searches for half-zip sweatshirts were up 75%.
Outdoor brands as streetwear. The rankings mix fashion labels with outdoor names: Arc'teryx and Salomon each topped Musinsa's daily brand ranking on several days in October, and Patagonia's Synchilla fleece pullovers were in the outerwear top 10.
Chelsea boots. Three Blundstone Chelsea boots were in Musinsa's overall top 10 on October 15, all marked as rising fast.
Lighter is better. Brands are competing on weight. Hazzys said its women's half-length outerwear dropped from 530g to 363g, about 31% lighter, Segye Ilbo reported.
Which other Korean brands are pushing light down?
Musinsa is not the only place this is happening. Segye Ilbo's October 10 roundup listed new light down lines across Korean fashion:
- 8Seconds: the "All Day Air" series, with a storage bag. Among its first-time light padding buyers from September 15 to 28, 68% were in their 20s and 30s.

Samsung C&T's SSF Shop reported that from August 20 to September 27, light padding buyers rose 101% year over year, cart additions rose 384%, and sales of ivory and pastel light padding rose 82%. Pale colors, not only black, are part of this season's look.

SPAO
SPAO is E-Land World's fast-fashion (SPA) brand, which Herald Economy described in April 2026 as Korea's first homegrown SPA brand. Its sales were estimated at about ₩600 billion in 2025, with about 170 stores, and E-Land planned to add up to 50 stores in 2026. Musinsa Standard
Musinsa's in-house basics brand previewed its 2026 winter collection in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, on October 1 under the theme "NEW STANDARD IN SEOUL," according to Dailian. The signature City Leisure line expanded its light down and women's pieces, built for layering with down and fleece. Collaborations this season include Italian designer Alessandro Punzetti, Copenhagen's Heliot Emil, Champion and Netflix.

The North Face White Label
White Label is a lifestyle line of The North Face run by Youngone Outdoor in Korea. It launched in 2011 and is sold only in Korea. On October 7, 2026, it opened its second flagship, the White Label Myeongdong Lounge, a four-story space in Seoul, according to Insight. The North Face's Korean lineup this season also includes the new Summit Matterhorn Down Jacket and returning Ventus On and Wave On jackets, which sold out quickly last year. New Balance Flying77
New Balance's Flying77 Superlight goose down earned the nickname "1-minute padding" after it sold out within a minute of its 2025 release. The 2026 hooded version went on sale on September 9 at 10 a.m. on New Balance's Korean online mall, and the day's first stock sold out, Hankyung reported. On Musinsa it was listed at ₩299,000 on October 15.
How does Korean winter sizing work?
Korean brands size differently from many US and European brands:
- Letter sizes can run smaller than US or European sizing. Always check the measurement table on the listing, not just the letter.
- "Free size" is common, especially for women's knits and outerwear. It means one size, usually cut loose.
- Measurements are in centimeters, taken flat: 어깨 (eokkae, shoulder), 가슴 (gaseum, chest, often half-chest), 소매 (somae, sleeve), 총장 (chongjang, total length).
