How to Buy from Zigzag (지그재그) from Overseas (2026 Guide)

Not anymore. Zigzag opened overseas delivery to the US, Canada and Japan on July 18, 2022 and closed it on November 30, 2023. Its closing notice says seller products can now be bought only in Korea and cannot be delivered overseas. This guide explains how Zigzag works, what its fast-delivery label means for a buyer abroad, and how to order through a purchasing agent, with facts checked in October 2026.

What is Zigzag and why shoppers want it

Zigzag started in 2015 as an app that gathered Korea's many small online clothing shops into one place. Before it, a shopper had to keep dozens of separate shop sites bookmarked. Zigzag put them behind one search bar, one set of recommendations and one checkout.

In 2021 the company behind it merged with Kakao's style commerce unit and became Kakao Style, a subsidiary of the company that runs Korea's dominant messaging app. At that point Kakao reported more than 35 million downloads. The app's store listing now advertises more than 7,000 shops.

Those shops are the draw. Most began as 소호몰 (soho-mol, small independent online shops) built on Seoul's Dongdaemun wholesale district, where new styles appear weekly. Prices are low, turnover is fast, and each shop has its own model, styling and sizing. Larger brands have joined since, along with beauty and lifestyle sections.

Zigzag and Ably are the two apps Korean women in their late teens to early thirties compare most often. Many shops sell on both. If you are choosing, read our Ably guide as well; the items overlap, but delivery rules and labels differ.

Can you buy from Zigzag directly from overseas?

The global service that no longer exists

You may find old posts describing Zigzag Global. It was real. Kakao Style's help center still carries the opening notice: overseas delivery to the US, Canada and Japan began at noon on July 18, 2022, with a delivery-country setting in the app. It ran for about 16 months.

The closing notice is there too. Overseas orders were accepted until November 9, 2023, ordering was blocked from November 10, and the service ended on November 30, 2023. A help article from that time states plainly that after the closure all Zigzag seller products can be purchased only in Korea and cannot be delivered overseas.

There has been no official replacement. So unlike Musinsa or W Concept, there is no case here where we can tell you "just use the global site".

Where the Korean app blocks you

Here is what we could confirm and what is only reported:

• Delivery is within Korea only. That is Kakao Style's own statement.
• Sign-up. The web login screen offers three routes: Kakao, phone number, and email. We did not go past the terms-agreement step, so we cannot say what verification follows. Shoppers report that a Korean mobile number is needed.
• Payment is behind the login. Overseas cards are reported not to go through.
• Language is Korean. The terms page has English and Japanese versions left from the global period, but the store itself does not. If you are in Korea with a Korean number and a Korean payment method, you can order normally to a Korean address. Otherwise, you need help.

Forwarding is realistic only for people who kept a Korean phone number and card after living there.

A purchasing agent places the order with its own Korean account. With HaulKorea you paste the product address, pay one total, and items from different shops are gathered into one shipment.

How to order a Zigzag item with HaulKorea, step by step

1. Open the product on zigzag.kr or in the app.
2. Copy the product address. In the app, use the share button on the product page. 3.** One line per product.
3. Copy the option text exactly. Zigzag options come from each shop and are in Korean, for example 크림 / S or 블랙 / FREE. Some shops add a second menu for length, such as 숏 (short) or 롱 (long).
4. Select your country and review the total. It includes the item, any shop shipping fee inside Korea, and international shipping.
5. Pay once with PayPal. If the box weighs less than estimated, you get the shipping difference back. No extra payment is requested later.
6. HaulKorea buys, receives and photographs each item. You see what arrived before it is exported.

What it costs, and what 직진배송 means for you

Zigzag has two kinds of listings, and they behave differently.

Regular shop listings. The shop ships from its own stock, on its own schedule, and sets its own shipping fee and free-shipping threshold. The fee is shown on the product page.

직진배송 (jikjin baesong, "Zigzin" fast delivery). These items are stocked in advance at a logistics center, and more than 10,000 stores take part. Zigzag's stated service levels:

• Order by midnight, and the item arrives the next day anywhere in Korea.
• In Seoul and nearby areas, order by 1 p.m. for same-day delivery.
• In Seoul, order by 10 p.m. for delivery before the next morning.
• Since April 2025 this runs seven days a week across most of the service area.

Same-day and dawn delivery carry a ₩990 fee on orders under ₩40,000, according to press coverage. Next-day delivery does not carry that fee.

Why does a buyer abroad care about next-day delivery in Korea? Because the item is already in stock. A Zigzin listing is far less likely to turn out to be sold out or made after order, and it reaches the warehouse in a day. If two similar items are on offer, the Zigzin one is the safer pick for an international order.

What to buy on Zigzag

Prices are in Korean won, as of October 2026, and are typical ranges, not quotes.

• Office-casual sets. Blouses and slacks at ₩20,000–45,000 each. Zigzag skews slightly older and more work-oriented than Ably.
• Slacks and denim in multiple lengths. ₩25,000–45,000. Many shops offer short, regular and long inseams.
• Knitwear. ₩18,000–45,000. New colors every few weeks in season.
• Dresses and two-piece sets. ₩25,000–60,000.
• Outerwear. Trench coats, short padded jackets and wool-blend coats at ₩50,000–130,000.
• Shoes and bags from shop labels. ₩20,000–60,000. Shoes are sized in millimeters.
• Brand section. Sportswear and casual brands at regular Korean retail prices.
• Beauty. Korean skincare and makeup. Check shipping limits first.

Things that go wrong, and how to avoid them

Each shop has its own sizing. Zigzag is 7,000 shops, not one retailer. An S at one is an M at another. Use the 실측 사이즈 (siljeuk saijeu, measured size) table in centimeters on every product. Most pages also list the model's height and the size she is wearing, which helps with length.

FREE size. One-size items are common and are usually cut around a Korean 55, close to a US small. Check chest and shoulder width before assuming it fits.

Made-after-order and delayed listings. Regular shop listings are often sourced from wholesalers only after you pay. Pages may say 주문 후 제작 (jumun hu jejak, made after order) or give a dispatch estimate of several business days. Popular items can slip one to two weeks. Choose Zigzin listings when timing matters.

Sold-out options. Shops cancel single lines without much notice. Give a backup color or size, or ask us to cancel that line.

Split parcels. Five shops means five deliveries to the warehouse over several days. Ask HaulKorea to hold and combine them.

Exchanges are a domestic feature. In July 2026 Zigzag launched 직진교환 (jikjin gyohwan, direct exchange), which lets a customer swap size or color on a Zigzin item within 7 days of receipt without refunding and reordering. It works while the item is still in Korea. It does not help once the parcel has been exported.

Restricted goods. Perfume, sprays, nail products and battery items face air-shipping limits.

Returns, sizing and customs

Korean e-commerce law gives domestic buyers 7 days from delivery to withdraw from an online purchase. On Zigzag the return goes back to the individual shop, and the buyer covers return shipping for a change of mind at that shop's rate.

When HaulKorea orders for you, delivery is to the Korean warehouse. Inspection photos let you spot a wrong item or defect while the 7 days are still running, and for Zigzin items an exchange can be requested inside Korea. After export, returning low-priced clothing is rarely worth the freight. Customs rules vary by country. For US orders with HaulKorea, duties are included in the price you pay, so nothing is collected on delivery. For every other country, duties and taxes are not included and the recipient pays them under local rules.
