Buldak Flavors in Korea 2026: The Korean Lineup, Prices, Import Rules
Samyang sells Buldak in more forms in Korea than most shoppers abroad ever see: soupy Buldak stew noodles, yakisoba and Thai curry cups, tteokbokki, flat glass noodles and frozen fried rice, alongside the classic, Carbo, Rosé and cheese. Which ones reach your country depends on Samyang's local export lineup, so check local shops first. For anything that is not there, food import rules decide what can be shipped.
This guide lists the current Korean Buldak range with won prices, explains Samyang's limited and regional editions, and sets out the food rules for the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Most packet flavors also come as a big cup (큰컵, keunkeop) and some as a small cup (컵, keop). Big cups are about 100 to 120 g; small cups are 70 to 80 g.
What is Buldak Bokkeumtang-myeon?
The name gives it away if you read Korean. 볶음면 (bokkeum-myeon) means stir-fried noodles: you drain most of the water. 볶음탕면 (bokkeumtang-myeon) borrows from 닭볶음탕 (dak-bokkeumtang), a spicy braised chicken stew, and is a soupier version. Samyang's product page dates it to May 2023, in packet (145 g) and big cup (120 g) formats.
What is the Phat Phong Curry Buldak?
A Thai-inspired curry Buldak. Korean outlet The Fact reported in May 2025 that it was first sold as a limited edition in China in October 2024, sold out quickly there, and was then launched first at Korean convenience stores at ₩2,200 per cup, also available online. The same report described it as a 105 g cup at 460 kcal, cooked in the microwave without draining the water. Samyang's product page dates the Korean big cup to April 2025.
What else carries the Buldak name in Korea?
Samyang's Korean site lists several non-noodle Buldak products:
- Sauces: Buldak Sauce, Carbo Buldak Sauce and Hack (extra hot) Buldak Sauce in 200 g bottles, a 10-stick pack of 16 g sauce sticks, Buldak Mayo (250 g), and 2 kg catering sizes.
- Tteokbokki: Buldak, Carbo Buldak and Rosé Buldak tteokbokki cups.
- Flat glass noodles (납작당면, napjak dangmyeon): Buldak, Carbo and Rosé versions, the Carbo one dated June 2025.
- Frozen fried rice (불닭볶음밥): Buldak and Carbo Buldak fried rice, sold frozen.
Samyang also sells a separate spicy noodle line in Korea called Maeptaeng (맵탱). It includes a garlic clam ramyeon and a Cheongyang chili and green onion ramyeon (2023), plus a cool spicy bibim-myeon in kimchi flavor (March 2025).
How much does Buldak cost in Korea?
Here are prices from Emart's online mall (emart.ssg.com) on October 15, 2026, all as of October 2026. Supermarket and convenience store prices differ, and multi-buy deals are common.
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Buldak Bokkeum-myeon 105 g | ₩1,400 |
| Buldak Bokkeum-myeon 140 g × 5 | ₩5,100 |
| Buldak Bokkeum-myeon 70 g × 6 | ₩6,300 |
| Carbo Buldak 105 g | ₩1,500 |
| Carbo Buldak 130 g × 4 | ₩5,980 |
| Rosé Buldak Big Cup 105 g | ₩1,550 |
| Rosé Buldak 140 g × 4 | ₩5,980 |
| 4 Cheese Buldak Big Cup 110 g | ₩1,550 |
| 4 Cheese Buldak 145 g × 4 | ₩5,980 |
| Buldak Bokkeumtang-myeon Big Cup 120 g | ₩1,550 |
| Buldak Bokkeumtang-myeon 4-pack | ₩5,980 |
| Buldak Sauce Original / Carbo / Hack, 200 g | ₩4,200 each |
| Stick Buldak Sauce Original 16 g × 10 | ₩4,200 |
For comparison, the same search showed Nongshim's Shin Ramyun 5-pack (120 g × 5) at ₩4,150, Neoguri 5-pack at ₩4,700, Ansungtangmyun 5-pack at ₩3,750 and Sacheon Jjapaghetti 4-pack at ₩4,580.
The point is not that Buldak is cheap in Korea, though it is. The point is that noodles are cheap and heavy. A 5-pack weighs about 700 g before the box. International shipping will cost more than the noodles, often by a wide margin.
Are there Korea-only or limited-edition Buldak flavors?
Sometimes, but the honest answer is that Buldak availability changes by country, and Samyang does not publish one global list that marks flavors as Korea-only.
What we can say from official and press sources:
- Some flavors start abroad. The Phat Phong Curry Buldak began as a China limited edition in October 2024 before reaching Korea, according to The Fact.
- Some flavors were export-only. In June 2020, iNews24 reported that 3x Hack Buldak and Corn Buldak had been planned for export only and had never been sold in Korea, until Samyang offered them through its official online mall.
- Korea has its own formats. Frozen Buldak fried rice, the Maeptaeng line and some cup sizes are part of Samyang's Korean range. Whether a version is sold where you live depends on Samyang's distributor there.
What about limited packaging and promotions?
Samyang runs promotions in Korea that do not involve new flavors. In March 2026, for example, Samyang's global Buldak site said its "House of Burn" pop-up at the Myeongdong headquarters ran from March 20 to 24, with a limited-edition tarpaulin bag for buyers at selected Seoul stores while supplies lasted.
Character and collaboration packaging also appears from time to time. These are usually the same noodles in a different wrapper, sold for a limited period. If you see one on social media, send us the Korean product name or a photo and we can check whether it is still on sale.
Check your local stores first
Buldak is widely exported. Before ordering from Korea, check Asian grocery stores and online retailers in your country. A local version comes with local labeling and no import questions. Note that export versions can differ from Korean ones. The USDA warns that many foreign foods found in US stores are not the same as their counterparts sold abroad and may contain different ingredients to meet US rules.
Can you ship ramyeon and Buldak from Korea?
This is where most food orders succeed or fail. There are two layers: the carrier's rules and the destination country's food rules.
The carrier side
Korea Post's EMS guidance treats food as conditional for air transport. It says finished products with printed labels and brand marks can be sent, but food home-processed or put into arbitrary containers bought at traditional markets cannot. It also lists, among prohibited items, goods that the destination country bans from import, giving food (especially kimchi) as an example.
So factory-sealed, labeled ramyeon passes the first test. The destination's rules come next.
The meat ingredient problem
Many ramyeon soup packets and sauces include meat or animal-derived ingredients, such as beef or chicken extracts. That matters because meat rules are strict in many countries. Always check the ingredient list on the actual product, and send us the link so we can check it too.
Food rules by country
Below is a summary from official government pages. Rules change, especially when animal disease outbreaks occur, so treat this as a starting point, not a guarantee.
| Country | What the official guidance says | What it means for ramyeon |
|---|---|---|
| United States | CBP: almost anything containing meat products, such as bouillon and soup mixes, is not admissible. APHIS: some processed animal products, such as extracts and bouillon, may be ineligible for import by individuals even if sold in US stores. FDA: purchased food gifts are generally subject to prior notice | Noodles with meat-based seasoning are a real risk. Ask us before you order |
| Canada | CFIA: meat products are permitted only if they accompany you into Canada and cannot come by mail or courier. Most other food categories have a 20 kg personal limit | Check whether the product contains meat. Ask us before you order |
| United Kingdom | GOV.UK personal-import guidance: packaged soup, stocks and flavorings are allowed from any country without restrictions; noodles and pasta are allowed, but not if mixed or filled with meat or meat products | Plain packaged noodles look fine. Products with meat need checking |
| Australia | DAFF: commercially prepared and packaged instant noodles are permitted if shelf stable; noodles with ingredients from cattle, goats, sheep or pigs need a manufacturer's label stating they were made in a country approved as free from foot-and-mouth disease. The same conditions apply to mail | Beef or pork ingredients are the issue. Ask us before you order |
United States in more detail
Three agencies are involved.
- USDA APHIS says the person receiving a package is the official importer of record and is legally responsible for it, even if they did not know it was coming. The package may be seized and destroyed at the port of entry. Its July 2026 leaflet notes that meat and animal products can carry diseases such as African swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease.
- CBP says meat import rules change frequently because they are based on disease outbreaks around the world.
- FDA says food products sent as gifts, other than homemade ones, are subject to the prior notice requirement, with some enforcement discretion for non-commercial shipments.
On top of that, duties apply. CBP ended duty-free de minimis treatment for low-value parcels from all countries on August 29, 2025. The recipient pays any US duty and carrier clearance fee locally; CBP says the importer is ultimately responsible for paying any duty owed. HaulKorea's total does not include them. Our US import duty guide explains more. Duty, though, does not decide whether food is admissible.
Canada, the UK and Australia
See our country guides for full details: shipping from Korea to Canada and shipping from Korea to Australia. Other countries have their own lists, and some restrict food parcels entirely.
Is it worth shipping ramyeon from Korea?
Usually only for items you cannot get locally. Some numbers to keep in mind:
| What you order | Approximate food weight | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| One 5-pack of Buldak (140 g × 5) | 700 g | Shipping will cost more than the noodles |
| Four 4-packs of flavors | about 2.2 kg | Bulk adds up fast |
| Six big cups | about 630 g, but bulky | Cups take a lot of box space |
| Sauce bottles, 200 g × 3 | 600 g plus glass or plastic | Liquids, need good packing |
| Sauce sticks, 16 g × 10 | 160 g | Light and compact |
Cups are the worst value to ship because the box is mostly air. Packets pack tighter. Sauce sticks are the most efficient way to get the Buldak taste across a border, if your country allows them.
The best approach is to add one or two items you truly cannot find at home to a bigger order of non-food items, rather than shipping a box of noodles alone. See how combining orders works.
How to order Buldak or ramyeon from Korea through HaulKorea
- Check local availability. If your country's Asian grocers sell it, buy it there.
- Find the Korean product. Send the link from a Korean store, or the exact Korean name from the package. Include the format: packet, big cup or small cup.
- Tell us your country first. Food is not a yes-by-default item. Ask us before you order, and we will check the destination's rules and the product's ingredients.
- Get one total. If we can ship it, you see the product price, Korean delivery and international shipping in one figure, paid once by PayPal. If the actual weight is lower, we refund the shipping difference.
- We buy and inspect. We send inspection photos from our Korean warehouse, including the label and best-before date.
- Receive and pay local charges. In every country, including the US, the recipient pays any import duty, VAT or sales tax and carrier clearance fee locally.
Our guide on what you cannot ship from Korea explains other restricted categories. For snacks, see our Korean snacks guide.
Tips for Buldak fans
- Mind the shelf life. Samyang lists a 6-month shelf life for its fried noodles and 12 months for 200 g sauces. Do not stockpile more than you will eat.
- Frozen items cannot travel. Buldak fried rice is sold frozen, so it cannot travel in an ordinary international parcel.
- Read the Korean name. Many items differ by one word: 볶음면 (stir-fried) vs 볶음탕면 (soupy), 큰컵 (big cup) vs 컵 (small cup).
FAQ
What Buldak flavors are sold in Korea?
As of October 2026, Samyang's Korean site lists original, Carbo, Rosé, 4 Cheese and Buldak Bokkeumtang-myeon in packets and cups, plus Big Cup Cheese, Yakisoba and Phat Phong Curry Buldak. It also lists Buldak sauces, tteokbokki, flat glass noodles and frozen fried rice.
Are there Buldak flavors you can only get in Korea?
Availability depends on each country's distributor, and Samyang does not publish a Korea-only list. Some Korean formats, such as frozen Buldak fried rice and the Maeptaeng line, are part of Samyang's Korean range. Check your local stores before ordering from Korea.
How much is Buldak in Korea?
As of October 2026, Emart's online mall listed a 105 g Buldak cup at ₩1,400, a five-pack of 140 g packets at ₩5,100, and Carbo, Rosé and 4 Cheese four-packs at ₩5,980 each.
Can I ship Buldak from Korea to the US?
It depends on the product's ingredients. CBP says almost anything containing meat products, such as soup mixes, is not admissible, and the recipient is legally responsible for the package. Ask us before you order any food for a US address.
Can I send ramyeon to Australia?
Australia's agriculture department permits commercially packaged, shelf-stable instant noodles, but noodles with ingredients from cattle, goats, sheep or pigs need a label stating they were made in a country approved as free from foot-and-mouth disease. Ask us before you order.
Is Buldak sauce easier to ship than noodles?
Sauce sticks are light and compact, and sealed, labeled bottles count as finished products. Destination rules still apply, especially if the sauce has meat-derived ingredients. Ask us before you order.
What is the newest Buldak in Korea?
Of the noodles on Samyang's Korean product list, the most recent is the Big Cup Phat Phong Curry Buldak, dated April 2025. The Carbo Buldak flat glass noodles followed in June 2025. Samyang releases new items regularly, so check its site for the latest.
Why is shipping ramyeon so expensive?
Noodles are cheap but heavy and bulky. A five-pack weighs about 700 g, and cups are mostly air, so international shipping usually costs more than the food itself. Combining with other items helps.
