11.11 Sales in Korea 2026: 11st, Gmarket, Naver, Coupang

By HaulKorea · Last checked 2026-10-15

In Korea, the 11.11 sales are led by 11st's Grand 11 Day (그랜드십일절) and Gmarket and Auction's Big Smile Day (빅스마일데이). In 2025 both ran November 1 to 11, and Naver ran its own sale from October 29 to November 11. As of October 15, 2026, none of the three had announced November 2026 dates, but all three have held a November sale in recent years.

This guide covers what each event looked like last year, what to expect this year, and how to buy from these Korean marketplaces when you live abroad.

What is 11.11 in Korean online shopping?

November 11 is a big shopping date across Asia, best known from China's Singles' Day. In Korea, the date became a marketplace event mainly because of 11st (11번가, Sibilbeonga), whose name is literally "Street 11." 11st has held a November event every year since it launched in 2008, according to a 2017 Etoday report. That year it ran its 십일절 (sibiljeol, "Eleventh Day") festival from November 1 to 11 and reported a then-record ₩64 billion in transactions on November 11 alone.

Other marketplaces responded with their own November events. Today, November is often called the "shopping month" (쇼핑의 달) in Korean retail news, with several platforms running sales in the same window:

  • 11st: Grand 11 Day, its biggest event of the year.
  • Gmarket and Auction: Big Smile Day, held twice a year in May and November.
  • Naver: a store-wide November sale for brand stores and Smart Stores.
  • Coupang: a Black Friday sale at the end of November, focused on imported goods.
  • The government: K-Sale Festa runs over the whole period.

None of these events are tied to each other. Each platform sets its own dates, coupons and deals.

What did 11st's Grand 11 Day look like in 2025?

11st ran the 2025 Grand 11 Day from November 1 to 11. According to New Daily and MTN reporting at the time:

  • Scale: More than 7,000 sellers and over 10 million discounted products, plus about 200 brands including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Dyson and Roborock.
  • Time deals: Four a day at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. from November 1 to 10, then every hour on November 11. About 1,800 items in total.
  • One-day big deals: One brand featured each day, from hotels to Dyson and Innisfree.
  • Rush deals: "10-minute rush" and "60-minute rush" sales at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Live shopping: 90 live broadcasts on 11st's LIVE11.
  • Coupons: Relay coupons of ₩3,000 on orders of ₩30,000 or more, and a ₩2,000 cart coupon on orders of ₩20,000 or more for festival items.

The 2024 edition followed the same pattern: November 1 to 11, time deals four times a day, and 81 live broadcasts, according to Financial News. 11st later said more than 24 million customers took part in the November 2024 event, its live broadcasts drew 27 million cumulative viewers, and more than 330 products each sold over ₩100 million.

2026 so far. 11st held a spring Grand 11 Day from May 6 to 16, 2026, with about 140 brands. Financial News reported new formats: a "Treasure Hunter" deal found through daily hints at 9 a.m., half-price deals for draw winners, relay coupons of ₩3,000, ₩4,000 and ₩5,000, and more than 130 live broadcasts.

In 2025, 11st opened November seller recruitment on October 14, with applications until October 27, and published the event details on October 29. If 2026 follows that timing, details would appear in late October. That is a pattern, not an announcement.

What did Gmarket's Big Smile Day look like in 2025?

Gmarket and its sister site Auction run Big Smile Day twice a year, in May and November. The first edition was in November 2017, and the November 2025 event was the 15th, according to Eroun News. In 2025:

  • Dates: November 1 (from midnight) to November 11.
  • Scale: About 30,000 sellers, up 30% from the year before, with about 30 million discounted items, according to Dealsite.
  • Coupons: ₩55 billion budgeted for discount coupons, with daily coupon packs worth up to ₩300,000.
  • First under new ownership: MTN described it as the first big event since the launch of the joint venture between Shinsegae Group and Alibaba International.
  • Seller costs: MTN reported that Gmarket would fund the discount coupons itself instead of splitting the cost with sellers.
  • Coupon tiers: Lower-value coupons covered groceries, food and fashion, and higher-value ones covered digital goods, appliances and furniture.
  • Daily drops: Limited-quantity special-price items were revealed every day at 10 a.m.

In 2024, Big Smile Day ran November 1 to 10, according to Money Today.

2026 so far. Gmarket's spring Big Smile Day ran May 6 to 19, 2026, with about 31,000 sellers. No November 2026 dates had been announced when we checked.

What about Naver and Coupang?

Naver. In 2025, Naver rebranded its November sale as 넾다세일 (Neopda Seil). MTN reported it ran from October 29 to November 11 with about 4.9 million products from brand stores and Smart Stores, plus daily limited "originals" released at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Naver Smart Stores are where many small Korean brands sell, so this sale is worth watching if you follow indie fashion or accessory brands. See Naver Smart Store.

Coupang. Coupang does not run an 11.11 event under that name. Its biggest late-November event in 2025 was 쿠블프 (Kubeulpeu, short for "Coupang Black Friday"), held November 24 to December 1. It was a Rocket Jikgu (로켓직구, rocket jikgu, Coupang's cross-border import service) sale, with more than 800 overseas brands and 27,000 imported products, according to Digital Daily. Since it sells imported goods to Korean shoppers, it is mostly not useful for buyers outside Korea.

Coupang still runs daily deals and coupons during November, as it does all year.

How do the November sales compare?

Event Platform 2025 dates 2025 scale Useful from abroad for
Grand 11 Day 11st Nov 1-11 7,000+ sellers, 10M+ products, ~200 brands Fashion, beauty, small home goods
Big Smile Day Gmarket, Auction Nov 1-11 ~30,000 sellers, ~30M products, ₩55B coupons Fashion, beauty, character goods, books

Coubeulpeu Coupang Nov 24 - Dec 1 800+ overseas brands Little; imported goods for Korea
K-Sale Festa Government umbrella Grand Festival: Oct 29 - Nov 9 (2025); Oct 29 - Nov 15 (2026) Thousands of participating businesses Depends on store; see below

The government-backed K-Sale Festa (formerly Korea Sale Festa) runs October 29 to November 15, 2026, and covers the whole 11.11 window. See Korea Sale Festa 2026.

What do the Korean sale terms mean?

Event pages are in Korean. These words come up on almost every November sale page:

Korean Romanized Meaning
타임딜 taimdil Time deal, a price that lasts for a set slot
특가 teukga Special price
한정수량 hanjeong suryang Limited quantity
품절 pumjeol Sold out
장바구니 쿠폰 jangbaguni kupon Cart coupon, applied to the whole order
중복 할인 jungbok harin Stackable discount
카드 청구할인 kadeu cheonggu harin Card-issuer discount, applied on a Korean card bill
라이브 raibeu Live shopping broadcast, often with its own coupons

If a price on the page is marked with a card-issuer discount or a coupon, the price you see is after that discount. The base listing price is usually shown nearby, crossed out or in smaller type.

Which deals are actually useful from abroad?

The headline deals at these events are often things you would not ship overseas: TVs, washing machines, robot vacuums, hotel stays, meal kits and kimchi cabbage. Korean appliances run on 220V with Korean plugs, and large items cost a lot to ship.

What usually works well:

  • Fashion and accessories. Clothing, bags and small accessories from Korean brands. Check the Korean clothing size chart first.
  • Beauty. Skincare and makeup sold by brand stores on the marketplaces.
  • Books, albums and stationery. Light and sturdy.
  • Character goods. Plush toys, phone cases and desk items.

What needs care:

  • Food, supplements, perfume and sprays are subject to country and carrier rules. Read what you cannot ship from Korea, and ask us before you order.
  • E-coupons (mobile vouchers for cafes and restaurants) only work in Korea.
  • Coupon-dependent prices. Many advertised prices need a Korean account coupon, a card-issuer discount or a membership. These may not apply to a purchase made by an agent.

Can you shop Korean 11.11 sales from outside Korea?

Usually not directly. 11st, Gmarket's Korean site and Naver stores generally need a Korean account, often with 본인인증 (bon-in injeung, identity verification) by Korean phone, Korean payment methods and a Korean delivery address.

Check direct routes first:

  • Gmarket and Lazada. Gmarket has been linking Korean sellers' products to Lazada in Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. If you are in one of those countries, some Korean products may be available there.
  • Brand global sites. Some Korean brands sell on their own international sites, sometimes with their own November promotions.

If the item is only on a Korean marketplace, you have two options.

How do you order 11.11 deals with HaulKorea?

Time deals sell out, so timing matters.

  1. Watch the event page on 11st, Gmarket or Naver once the sale opens. Note the time slot for any time deal.
  2. Copy the product link and write the exact option: size, color or set.
  3. Send us the link as early as you can. For a time deal, send it before the slot opens and tell us the time.
  4. Check the total. We show one total that includes international shipping. You pay once by PayPal.
  5. We buy at the price shown on the store when we order. Limited deals can sell out before then.
  6. We receive and photograph your items at our warehouse in Korea, so you can check them before shipping.
  7. We ship one box. If it weighs less than estimated, we refund the shipping difference. No second charge.

Duty and tax are not included in the total. In every country, including the US, the recipient pays local duty, tax and any carrier clearance fee on arrival.

How should you plan around November?

November stacks several reasons to buy:

  • Late October: K-Sale Festa and Naver's sale have usually started.
  • November 1-11: 11st and Gmarket's events (based on 2024 and 2025).
  • November 11: Pepero Day, a Korean gift day. See Pepero Day 2026.
  • Late November: Coupang's import sale (November 24 to December 1 in 2025), and Black Friday sales that some Korean fashion platforms run.

If you are buying from several stores, you can send links as each sale happens and ship them together once the last item arrives. One box costs less than several, but earlier items will wait at the warehouse. See combining orders from Korea.

What can go wrong with 11.11 orders?

Sold-out time deals. The best deals are limited in quantity. Have a backup.

Prices that need a Korean coupon. The advertised price may depend on an app-only coupon or a Korean card. The price we can pay is the one available to us at checkout.

Seller delays. Marketplaces are made of many sellers. During big events, some ship slowly, which delays when items reach our warehouse.

Mixed listings. One listing can contain dozens of options with different prices. Name the exact option.

Returns. Returning a Korean marketplace purchase from abroad is slow and often not worth it. See returns from Korean stores.

Assumed dates. Until 11st and Gmarket announce their November 2026 events, the 2025 dates are only a guide.
